The Education Ministry has asked the Education Bureau of India (EAI) to review the recommendation letter sent by a teacher recommendation letter (PMR) to a P.S. Khan and his son P.N. Khan.
The PMR of the two teachers is dated April 25, 2017.
It has been sent to the two families and has been forwarded to the government for its consideration.
The government has asked for the PMR to be examined and the two parents have been asked to submit their written submissions.
The Education Ministry had on Thursday asked the EAI to examine the PMRs of the teachers in the P. S. Khan case and the P N. Khan’s case.
The education ministry has asked a bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra and Justice B S Anand to review all such PMRs.
The bench was hearing a petition challenging the decision of the Supreme Court to take up the case and on Wednesday, the apex court had asked the Centre to ensure that the matter is examined by the court.
The petitioners have asked the court to ensure an expeditious decision is taken in the matter and to ensure the welfare of the children of the P Khan and P. N. Khans.
The petitioner also sought an immediate probe into the death of the couple.
The EAI has sent the letter to the respective parents.
The PMR is a written recommendation by the concerned parent to the principal of a school.
The Delhi Government has asked schools to submit PMRs within seven days of receiving them.
