By Staff ReporterA teacher arrested in Cook County is accused of taking a cat to the hospital in an attempt to treat a minor injury, according to the Chicago Tribune.
The arrest happened on Friday morning, according the Tribune.
The cat was taken to Cook County Hospital, where the boy is in stable condition.
It is not known what the teacher is accused in.
The Tribune says a police officer saw the cat lying in a hallway in a classroom at a school in the 5400 block of West Lake Street, where it was discovered by the boy’s mother.
The boy was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital, where he was later released, the Tribune reported.
The girl was also taken to a hospital, and is in good condition.
Police did not identify the girl or the boy.
The incident comes just days after the Chicago Teachers Union released a report that found Chicago teachers make nearly $12,000 less than their counterparts across the country.
