Job Type: Full-time, Full-year positionSalary: $50,000 (includes housing, health insurance, 401(k), and 401(b) match)Required education:Bachelor of Arts, English degree or equivalent with at least 30 hours a week, preferably with an emphasis in English Language and LiteratureRequired experience:Teaching English as a Second Language (ESL) or equivalent, or working towards an English language certificate, either through ESL or by participating in ESL programs in Canada or abroad (e.g., in an ESL course)Minimum qualifications:A minimum of three years teaching experience in the classroom and/or as a professional ESL instructor with a minimum of six months of experience in a classroom, or as a teacher with experience in ESL teaching at a school with more than one pupil.
Experience with ESL or related certification, including teaching ESL or English as an intermediate or advanced level, is also preferred.
Teaching experience in teaching ESL is required and is an asset.
Applicants must be able to work from home and be available for scheduled meetings and telephone appointments.
A current letter of intent to teach ESL in Canada, which must be approved by the Board of Governors of the Canadian Council for English Language Teachers, is required.
Candidates must be registered to teach in the province where they will be teaching.
This includes all provinces and territories.

We require candidates to have a minimum 2.5 year of teaching experience at a Canadian public or private elementary or secondary school.

The Lad is looking for an experienced, professional teacher to lead English language teaching in Ottawa’s East End, one of Ottawa’s most vibrant and culturally diverse communities.
